Gen.3:8-9 — "How God Responds"
Pastor Duane’s message from Genesis 3:8-9 explores God's response to humanity's first sin. After Adam and Eve disobeyed God, they hid in shame, feeling fear and guilt for the first time. God, however, pursued them in love, asking, "Where are you?" to restore the relationship that had been broken by their sin. Adam and Eve's immediate reaction was to shift blame—Adam blamed Eve, and Eve blamed the serpent—illustrating how sin distorts accountability and fosters shame. God then pronounces consequences on all involved: the serpent is cursed, and both Eve and Adam face increased pain and hardship. Despite this judgment, God provides hope through a prophetic promise in Genesis 3:15, which foreshadows Jesus' victory over sin and the serpent. Pastor Duane emphasizes that Jesus' life, death, and resurrection offer redemption and healing, restoring our relationship with God and offering hope for all broken relationships.
