Who We Are
Women’s Shelter on Willow is a one year residential discipleship ministry for women. We provide the opportunity to develop a personal relationship with Jesus Christ through biblical discipleship, healthy relationships, and service in a structured home. Our mission is to improve significantly the spiritual, emotional, and physical well-being of women through the word of God, safe shelter, healthy meals, christian mentors & counseling, career & financial training, as well as other support services.
What We Do
Discipleship is our path to maturity in Christ. It is the process of learning about God, ourselves, and the world in a way that changes us. As Jesus taught His disciples, so He brings other, more mature believers into our lives to teach us. And God has given us the Bible as the source of knowledge that we need for growth.
God intended our lives to be lived out in relationships; each of us submitting, reminding, confronting, forgiving, praying for one another, and bearing one another’s burdens. Through these relationships, we have a constant opportunity to be doers of His Word, not hearers only.
As we begin to understand how God has loved us so abundantly, we will gain a heart to love others. We will desire to spend our time and energy in service. We discover unexpected joy as others needs become more important than our own needs, as we reach out to help in whatever way we can.
Boundaries teach us discipline and self-control, two things we all need to thrive in the body of Christ and the world. Paul tells us in 2 Timothy 2:3, “…endure hardship as a good soldier.” Boundaries can feel like hardships, but endure for Christ’s sake. As you walk worthy of your calling as a child of God and humble yourself before Him, He will lift you up.
Each women will make a commitment with the director that will support the primary goal of making disciples of Jesus Christ. If you or someone you know is interested in applying to Women’s Shelter on Willow, please call Lauren Wong at 717 675 3825 or email laurenw@ccleb.com

Meet the Staff
Lauren Wong, Director
Lauren Wong is originally from South Jersey. Early in life she went down the wrong road, choosing drugs and alcohol over everything else. This lead to a crippling heroin addiction and by the age of 25, She was hopeless and homeless on the streets of Philadelphia. After several failed attempts at sobriety she had lost all hope and ended up in jail. In 2008, as a last resort she decided to try something totally different and entered Blessed Hope, a 1 year Christ centered residential discipleship ministry of Calvary Residential Discipleship in Bangor, Maine.
Early on in her time there, the truth of God’s Word and His love for her was so loud that she could not deny it. He was speaking directly into her heart. It was there that the Lord met her and saved her. After her one year of discipleship, she entered Calvary Chapel Bangor’s School of Ministry program. And it was there that He gave her a strong desire to serve Him. She has been faithfully serving in ministry ever since.
Matthew 6:33
